Belts Before
checking belts remove keys, let engine cool and disconnect
batteries (especially with a remote start installed.) With the engine
cold check the belts. Most newer
cars run
just on belt
called
a serpentine
belt. The belt should have
no large
cracks in it or any pieces missing. If you rub the back side of
the belt with your thumb and a large amount of particles from the belt
come off the belt needs to be replaced. If you know it has been
on
the vehicle for 5 years or more replace it. After replacing the
belt put the old one in a bag in the trunk for a spare. An old belt
is better than no belt.
